Team Haringey retained their ParaGames title after an impressive showing at the London Youth Games.
The victory, which saw them also take the Jubilee trophy for accumulating the most points, means the north London borough has finished in the top three overall for six consecutive editions.
The athletes won the ParaGames trophy for the first time ever last year, showing their recent development of para athletes.
Senior Sports Development Officer at Haringey Sports Development Trust Craig Gravis said: “This success will inspire the next generation of Haringey athletes to dream big and believe they can achieve.”
The borough enjoyed an incredible season, with gold medals in boys’ & girls’ para athletics, inclusive basketball and tennis.
They also finished first in boys’ cricket, boys’ & girls’ para football, as well as claiming silver in the U13 girls’ football and indoor rowing.
Those strong results saw Haringey finish on 1024 points, beating out 2025 winners Bromley by just two points in the end.
Gravis continued: “We are immensely proud of every young athlete who represented Haringey.
“This is what happens when young people are given the chance to shine.”
Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Erin Wolson, said: “It’s great to see young athletes with disabilities and special educational needs retain the trophy.
“Their achievement is a testament to their talent, hard work and determination, and to everyone who has supported them along the way.”
“We remain committed to making sport more accessible and inclusive so that people of all ages and abilities across Haringey have the opportunity to take part.”
