TGJones in Edgware closes down for good on 9 January 2027 in what marks the end for the stationery and book shop in the Broadwalk Shopping Centre.
Originally opened as a WHSmith in 1990 when the mall opened, it became TGJones last year when WHSmith sold their high street stores to Modella Capital but held ownership of the name WHSmith.
TGJones announced last month they had been granted court approval to restructure the business by closing 150 stores down.
Shopper Joshua 18, was saddened by the decision to close the north west London branch down.
He said: “It does affect me personally as it’s where I can purchase all my stationery.
“Now I’m going to have to find somewhere else, probably further away, so it’s going to take more time.”
Joshua also said TGJones was a convenient place to find all of his school equipment and he had expected to shop for university supplies there.

A customer who wanted to remain anonymous was very disappointed by the closure because they said the store is a vibrant part of the local community.
They added they will now no longer shop at the Broadwalk and instead visit Brent Cross more.
A TGJones spokesperson said: “As we work to secure the long-term future of TGJones, we have confirmed that our Edgware shop will close.
“We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers and the local community.
“Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period.
“We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TGJones.”
The upcoming large sway of closures are part of the intention to stop the entire business from failing which also preserves 300 stores across Britain.
The Edgware shop now has a number of discounts on offer as they start to close down, with up to 30% off products.
