England Rugby player Zoe Harrison has been given an honorary degree from Middlesex University for her sporting achievements.
The Red Roses player, and Middlesex University alumna, played a key role in leading her team to victory this year.
The Saracens player studied sports sports rehabilitation and exercise and thanked the university for supporting her during her studies.
“Having studied at Middlesex, it feels especially special to be recognised by a university that played an important role in my own journey,” Harrison said.
“The University gave me the opportunity to continue developing academically while pursuing my rugby career, and I have many fond memories of my time there.”
Harrison has earned more than 60 international caps for England and played a central role in the team’s victory at the 2025 Rugby World Cup, where she helped secure a 33-13 win over Canada by converting four tries.
She said: “What stood out to me was the supportive environment and the understanding that students can have ambitions and commitments beyond the classroom.”
Professor Shân Wareing, Middlesex University‘s vice-chancellor, said the award recognised Harrison’s inspiring contribution to sport and her role as a positive influence in the community.
“We’re delighted that these distinguished individuals have accepted Middlesex University’s recognition of their inspiring contributions in their respective fields and communities across the creative arts, law and business, disability awareness, diversity and inclusion, patient advocacy, mental health, education, charity work and more,” she said.
