Hillingdon Libraries offer a children’s summer reading challenge which begins on July 5 and finishes on September 13.

Each year has a different theme and this year’s is ‘Story Garden – Adventure in Nature and the Great Outdoors’.

This exciting challenge is dedicated for children from the ages of 4-11.

To complete this challenge, participants must visit a library and borrow books at least four times (where they will be rewarded with stickers).

Once the challenge is finished, they will receive a medal.

Last year Hillingdon Council’s cabinet member for residents’ services Councillor Eddie Lavery said: “I am delighted that our libraries are able to offer this brilliant opportunity once again for the borough’s budding readers.

“In previous years the challenge has seen thousands of children in Hillingdon take part and I’m eager to see as many youngsters as possible make the most of our 16 wonderful local libraries this summer.”
