Haringey Greyhounds defy odds to win Women’s National Ice Hockey League 2 title

The Haringey Greyhounds have won the Women’s National Ice Hockey League Division 2 South B title in only their first year in the league.

Founded in 2024, the Greyhounds, who play at Alexandra Palace, topped the South B table with nine wins and only one loss.

At their final game against the Lee Valley Vampires, Greyhounds captain Hannah Dolan Davies explained how special the team is to her, and what it meant to win the title.

She said: “To me, it means that against – not all the odds – but against some odds, you can do it.

“These girls support each other, and women supporting women is like nothing else.

“It feels like you’re being held up by a group of people that you love and support, and that you look up to.”

The Greyhounds will progress into South A within Division 2 next season, as they no doubt look to replicate this year’s successes.
