England and Australia’s rugby league squads took captain’s runs last Friday ahead of the first Ashes Test at Wembley Stadium – with a surprise guest meeting the Kangaroos squad.
Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi, at the ground to promote an upcoming tour, posed for pictures with the touring squad and even showed his catching skills. Speaking to reporters briefly afterwards, he suggested admiration for rugby league by branding it “football without helmets”.
