Prince Harry at the Coronation

Prince Harry appears at Coronation – not in uniform but with military medals

On the day of his son’s fourth birthday, the Duke of Sussex arrived at the coronation of his father, King Charles the Third, but he has not been allowed to wear his official uniform like other members of his family.

The King’s son was spotted wearing a morning suit with military medals, walking in alone behind his cousins before sitting three rows back – next to Jack Brooksbank, husband of his cousin Eugenie.

The Duke of Sussex does not have an official role within the service, as opposed to his brother William, the Prince of Wales, who will pledge loyalty to the King and his son George who will be a page boy during the service.

Despite serving two tours of Afghanistan in the British Army, Prince Harry will only be allowed to wear a morning suit like many members of the public – as he did at his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s funeral last year.

In his tell-all book Spare, the Duke revealed – quite controversially – that he killed 25 people during his military service.

The Duke of Sussex flew commercially to the UK on American Airlines flight AA136 yesterday morning for coronation and is expected to whisk off soon after to hurry back home for Prince Archie’s celebrations.

Harry will be attending the coronation briefly and is expected to rush back to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex stayed at home in the family’s California home whilst her husband flew the nest.

The Sussex children Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, one, will be missing their grandfather King Charles’ coronation.

The kids were finally styled as Prince and Princess on the royal website yesterday as they are children of a son of a monarch and as such entitled to the titles.

Another person who will notably not be in attendance is US President Biden.

However, Prince Andrew shockingly is attending his brother’s coronation despite the scandal surrounding his friendship with Jeffery Epstein.

The king’s brother is also not allowed to wear his military dress, despite having served in the Royal Navy during the Falklands War 40 years ago.

On his way to the Coronation the Duke of York was booed on route by crowds who spotted him in his car before he arrived with his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, and their husbands – although not their mother, Sarah Ferguson.
