London Irish captain calls on fans to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at Brentford Community Stadium

London Irish’s St Patrick’s Day party is set to go ahead for the first time in two years on the day of their game against Northampton Saints.

The club has Irish themed activities planned throughout to ensure fun will be had for all ages and will take place around the clash with the Saints.

Captain Matt Rogerson has called on fans to celebrate with the team on Saturday March 26 at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Rogerson said: “The St Patrick’s Party fixture is the first match that the squad look for at the beginning of the season.

“We haven’t managed to welcome supporters to one of these fixtures for a few seasons due to the pandemic, but we are delighted to have them back in the stands for this season’s St Patrick’s Party on Saturday 26 March against Northampton Saints.”

The St Patrick’s Party has been a fixture in the rugby calendar since 2001 and London Irish’s opponents that day were also Northampton Saints.

This year is set to go ahead in style with supporters able to enjoy pop up bars, street food stalls and live entertainment acts outside the ground.

On the other side of Lionel Road, there will be activities for everyone including dodgems, a giant inflatable obstacle course and a rodeo rugby ball.

Live bands and Irish dancers will perform around the pitch before and after the match with prizes to be won in the competition at half-time.

Rogerson added: “The bumper crowd that we get is a huge motivation for us as players. There is a buzz around the club as we edge closer to the match.

“We genuinely can’t wait for it and I’m looking forward to seeing the Exile Nation supporters in full force.”

Tickets are on sale from £25 for adults and £10 for kids, with a special group package available in the West and East Stands offering four tickets for £50.
